Once again this year, TIO was prepared for an extraordinary scientific adventure at the Pasadena Unified School District Science Fest, hosted at John Muir High School on Saturday 16 March. The event, created a few years ago and organized by TIO Instrumentation System Scientist Warren Skidmore, stands as one of the largest annual Science Fest events celebrating science, technology, and the environment in the Pasadena region community.
The TIO team, alongside a plethora of professionals from institutions like JPL NASA, Caltech, Huntington Medical Institutes, and others, brought interactive exhibits to showcase the latest advancements in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) as well as environmental and medical fields. There were nearly 400 professionals and volunteer representatives from various organizations and institutions.
TIO engineers and staff were highly engaged in giving live demonstrations of cutting-edge telescope technology such as mirror segments actuators and edge sensors. The immersive virtual reality walkthrough of the observatory provided excellent opportunities for discussion about space exploration.
